First Cricut Projects

Well, I have actually dived into making crafts on my Cricut!!  At first I was a little overwhelmed with how to use this new machine, but now I am just so excited about all the possibilities.  I am not quite ready to give anyone a training on using the Cricut, but I do want to share my First Cricut Projects!

So many questions when getting ready to use the Cricut, where do you get the vinyl, what kind of vinyl do you use, how do you design on the design center, all those answers are surely being answered.  I am so thankful for the help from my daughter she is sending me sites to check out and places to buy vinyl and where to get SVG downloads.

Rose made with the Cricut

I saw this rose on a post that someone put online and I thought that is just so cute, so I went on youtube and found the pattern for making it.  I went to the design center on Cricut.com and follow the directions and cut those rose out of card stock paper.  I am going to have to make a bunch more of these.

Plate with Faith, Hope and Love Decal

Then my next project was the plate with the decal I uploaded onto the Design Center and found the hearts on the Design Center, so obviously I printed them off and placed them on the plate.  The plate is special to me it came from my mother’s collection of dishes and she passed away Sept. 10, 2001, so I thought this would be a special way to use the plate. I am trying to decorate my house for Valentines but I seem to keep getting side tracked by Cricut projects, at least today I manged to get the Christmas Season items are packed away.

Let your light so shine decal

Last but not least I wanted to make up some decorations for our church dinner we are having.  Each year around Valentines we have a John 3:16 meal, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  For this meal we invite friends and family in to join us for a special menu and I of course want the church decorated for Valentines, well really for the subject of “God’s Love.”  I will be using my Cricut to make some other decorations, so watch for the future post of the other projects I made for the church.

I hope you enjoyed this post and come back soon!  If you love to do crafts and have always wanted those wonderful home decor objects with the sweet sayings on them this is a great way to make them for yourself.  I have a t-shirt I want to make, I am a little weary of that project but I will dive into that one too.
