Taking a trip up to Northern Wisconsin? Why not take a stop at the Cable Natural History Museum? Cable, Wisconsin is a quaint little town on Hwy 63, https://www.mapquest.com/search/results?slug=%2Fus%2Fwisconsin%2Fcable-282029672&query=Cable,%20WI&queryId=id:282029672&page=0 From Madison 4 hrs. 52 mins., Minneapolis 2 hrs. 55 mins., Chicago 7 hrs. 8 mins., and if you are up in Hayward area vacationing it is only 20 mins. away. If you are looking for a kid friendly museum I would strongly suggest this one. Play a little I spy something game with your kids on your way in, “I spy a big bird, where is it?”
I toke 4 of my 7 grandchildren to this museum last year and I plan on taking them back next summer. They loved it, we could have stayed longer then we did because there is so much to enjoy in this small kid friendly museum! In July I took 2 of my granddaughters to visit the Cable Natural History Museum, http://cablemuseum.org/ they searched for different animals, experienced what it is like to be in a Beaver Den and finding animals that were hiding!!
In August last year I took my 2 youngest grandchildren, they were only 4 & 1, there was so much adventure for them, puzzles, games, stuffed animals, fish tank and then of course all the different animals to learn about, they even were able to use their touch senses by feeling different animal skins, the only time you really would want to touch a skunk skin and even wrap it around you!! There is just so much to see and it is educational too, your kids will love it!!! And while you are in Cable take time to check out the little shops, also don’t forget to take time to have something to eat, there are a few good places to check out: http://thebrickhousecafe.net/ or http://www.theidealmarket.com/Pages/default.aspx I know you will enjoy your visit to Cable, Wisconsin. Go in the fall the colors are beautiful and there is just so much more to enjoy a ride along Lake Namakagon is breath taking!!
