Do You Know the Lord’s Mercies?
Do You Know The Mercies of God?
How many times have you felt like everything is just falling to pieces and you can’t seem to get a grip on what is happening in your life at the time? Are you forgetting the Mercies of God? Most of the time when things seem so impossible and I just can’t seem to find my way clear of the heart ache or out the troubles that seem to be over powering me, it is because I have forgotten to look to the good, to the mercies the Lord has given me. There are times I can only see the bad in a situation, the reason for that is because I am not giving it to God, I am trying to fix it, the scriptures speaks about how we can’t know the mind of God, we can’t fully understand what is happening at the time because we don’t know the purpose God has in it for us, we just want it better.
During times of trouble or distress in my life I have learned to just go on my knees and give it to God, just pleading my heart out to him and ask him to give me peace through the troubles, I can’t tell you how many times the burden on my heart has been lifted.
Too often we are like the Israelites. When things go wrong, we so easily forget all the years of blessings from God’s hand. In Exodus 14, the Israelites were upset with Moses for bringing them down to the Red Sea & they started complaining because Moses had brought them there to die at the hand of the Egyptians, the Israelites were not understanding Moses trust in God, or God’s power, but then, God saved them from the Egyptians by opening the Red Sea for the Israelites to cross on dry ground and then closed the sea on the Egyptians, of course they all died. The Israelites of course were all thankful then but what happen 3 days later, they started complaining again, forgetting that God endureth forever!
